360 benq mod
Do you need a mod chip to flash an Xbox 360?
I have an xbox 360 with a Benq drive and want to flash it to play backups. I read somewhere that it can be done by flashing the firmware, but I red somewhere else that I must purchase a mod chip.
Firstly, what is a mod chip?
Do I need one to flash my console?
If I do, where can I get one from?
No as it you can see from what follows:
First step you have to download the Ixtreme Firmware ( just Google it ),
then you have to connect the Xbox 360 DVD drive to your PC and read its
original firmware to extract the key ( you should make at least two backup copies of the original firmware to avoid problems ) that you write
in the Ixtreme firmware using softwares like Winhex or KDX. When you have done this that implies opening both Xbox and your PC ( keep in mind that this voids your warranties ) then flash your modified Ixtreme firmware to the Xbox 360 DVD drive, reassemble both Xbox 360 and PC and then you are done.
Basically i explained you the procedure, anyway there’re good tutorials that explain you this step by step and that you can view at the following link:
