benq 24 inch

Help! I can’t display 1920×1200 via a DVI cable on my BenQ 24 inch FP241W?
I just bought a BenQ 24 inch FP241W monitor and when I connect my computer with VGA I can display the monitor’s native resolution of 1920×1200 but I can’t display this when I connect with a DVI cable (the screen just goes blank for a few seconds and reverts to a lower resolution when I try).
Can anyone tell me why this is?
I have the latest driver’s for my monitor and graphics card.
I guess there is a chance my graphics card can’t display 1920×1200 via a DVI cable, but its a good graphics card so I don’t think this is the problem.
These are the specs on my computer:
-Mainboard – ASus M2N-E
-CPU – AM2 Athlon 64 3200+
-Video Card – Sapphire ATI Radeon X1600 Pro PCI-Express 512MB
-Memory – DDR2 2 X 512MB
-Running – Windows XP Professional
Thanks for any help!
are you sure you’re connecting your computer to your tv the correct way with a dva cable?
