The only differance between HD and HDA really matters is Certified for Windows Vista. Get one with the highest certification of Vista, thus supporting the monitor any version of Vista, regardless of whether it is 32 or 64 bits. Contrast ratio could be higher but for most things that work well. It's going to play or watch HD videos I would recommend something with better contrast. Try looking at the LG W2253TQ-PF Black 21.5 "2ms in http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005124 I have the 32-inch monitor and what video quality is amazing.
