benq monitors problems
Benq computer monitor problem.?
Ok, so i brought a flat screenn Benq monitor 17” and as i was gaming randomly blew up – the screen went white and ahorriblee smell occured. I tryed plugging it back in but only the light near the (on) button turns on (green as usual). Now what i would like to know is if it is repairable and is it worth it. The screen is approximately 3 years of age and hasn’t caused any trouble since.

Backlight and/or its inverter circuit could be busted. If you will be charged a substantial sum by a technician to have it repaired better just buy a new one. LCD screens are now cheap compared to 3 years ago.
If you have a techie friend who knows how to replace the backlight/inverter and you are able to source the parts pretty cheap, then go ahead with the repair. Use it as a second monitor for dual display set up.
