benq tv

I recently bought a Benq LCD TV (dv3750) which boasts a full high definition; but after using for only a month
I am not sure if I have done the right thing as the TV seems to lack the quality I have been searching for; the audio was bearable but the video was not up to my expectation. The shop could be willing to allow an exchange for another set provided I act fast. Anyone out there ever owns a Benq 37-inch lcd TV please share your experience. I’m right now considering going for a Sony KF-50E200A lcd prjection TV unless somebody who ever uses this rear projection TV comes forward and advises me against it. The price is now MYR5,999 compared to MYR9,999 previously.
I’ll do a sum-up:
1) you get what you pay for (in general)
- cheaper TVs in general has less features. For instance, minute specific details like Response times, Contrast Ratio, HDMI input/output, resolution. These increase the viewing experience.
2) what you see is what you input
- have you ever tried your great new TV with HDMI input? My guess is, it’s probably going to change your perception of the TV.
A little bit about BenQ.
Visit their website and find out about their latest achievements. You might be surprised. Read up about the technologies in your TV too! In my humble opinion, BenQ strives for excellence in technology and translating it into practical use. It probably suck in terms of hottest designs or extravagant marketing.
I am a proud owner of both BenQ LCD and Sony LCD TVs. Both are good. My BenQ gives better picture quality when playing normal DVDs (but it’s a smaller TV, the image does not need to be stretched).
I have also personally seen the projection TV. Great visuals indeed, especially stunning if you have an audio visual room (dimly lit). Only one thing to note is the start and end of the visual experience: you need some time for it to warm up the bulp and to cool down. Don’t ever switch off the power supply before properly shutting down. Also note the bulb. If i am not wrong, the bulb has a life span (3-8 years?). We’re talking about thousands, if it needs a replace.
I suppose, the best way would be to play from the same video source with both TVs to compare. (plug exactly the same DVD player / HDMI source to test both TVs).
